About the Doctor

Dr. Steven M. Sobel

Dr. Sobel was born in Florida and received his bachelor’s of arts in pre-medical biology from the University of Texas. He subsequently received his Optometry degree at the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1983. Dr. Sobel did internships in contact lenses, geriatric, and pediatric vision. In 1985, he became a Board Certified Optometric Physician and has maintained its strict educational requirements.

In display of his outstanding accomplishments and abilities, he has received the Optometric Recognition Award in 1990, 1993, 1996, 1998, 2001, 2004, and 2005. Dr. Sobel has been in private practice in Orlando since 1983. He started his practice in a tiny 500 square foot office. Since then, his practice has grown by word of mouth and customer referrals to his current location of over 3300 square feet!

Dr. Sobel is a proud member of the American Optometric Association, the Florida Optometric Association, the Central Florida Society of Optometric Physicians, and the American Optometric Association Contact Lens and Cornea Section.
